Exhibition April 12 2013

I'm going to be showing some work in April with 3 others at Arts on Burgundy in Heidelberg. The show will run from April 12th until April 27th 2013. Plenty of time to head down and check it out.

You can find more information here.

Melbourne, Docklands, CBD, Yarra Rangers

This is a nice view of Melbourne from around 3500 feet. Looking a bit small from this height. In ten years I expect the Docklands area will be fully utilized.

The Lytro Camera

Lytro Stacked
Every month this year I will be writing a series on every camera that I own. The first is the newest member of the bunch.

The Lytro is a new technology that enables the user to refocus the image using the software provided by Lytro. It can also do a perspective shift that looks pretty amazing. The best way to get a result from this camera is to shoot with something close and far from the camera. This would usually give a depth of field view in your ordinary camera. You still get the depth of field effect however you can adjust this from foreground to background. Try it out on the image below.

Dragonfly (by Greg Tokarski)

How does it work?  In a nutshell it captures the light rays from every direction; it's a little bit like some aerial survey equipment available.
